Short description:

The Vertical Mini PAGE System consists of three operational inserts with electrode assemblies that fit in the same buffer tank. Users can purchase only the parts they need, or a complete, combined system.

Set up of 10 x 10 cm gels is easy with the Select BioProducts Mini PAGE System. Spacers are bonded to the glass plates. Before pouring the gel, the plates are placed in the gel insert and held in place by pressure frames. The insert is then placed in the casting stand. After the gel has polymerized, the insert is simply removed from the casting stand and placed in the buffer chamber.

Each side of the insert will hold one set of plates. A third plate may be added to each set, allowing for a total capacity of four gels. The system is supplied with buffer tank, gel insert, casting stand, two notched plates, two plates with bonded spacers, two 1 mm x 12 tooth combs and a cooling pack.

The MiniGel II Electrophoresis System is supplied complete with all components needed for casting and running agarose gels: two gel casting sets, gel tank and attached power supply. The system is extremely versatile, with three different sizes of gel trays, multiple combs and output voltage from 10 to 150V.

The gel tank is moulded for leak-proof performance and a long service life. The power supply connects directly into the gel tank, ensuring a proper connection is made every time. A magnetic sensor allows current to flow only when the lid is in place.

Three different sizes of gel trays can be used in the external casting stand without tape or spacers.

Select BioProducts Horizontal Gel Boxes are available in a variety of sizes from compact mini systems to a large maxi gel system that can accommodate up to 450 samples. All of the systems feature moulded gel tanks and corrosion resistant electrodes in protective cassettes.

The safety lid fits in just one direction and has a drip ring to recycle condensed buffer and prevent it from dripping directly onto the gel. Rubber gates snap onto the ends of the gel trays for easy, tape free casting. Slots on the sides of the gel trays hold the combs in place. The teeth on the combs can be raised and lowered to vary the depth of the well. Gel trays are UV transparent.

A wide assortment of gel trays and combs are available for the Select BioProducts Horizontal Electrophoresis Systems.  All the gel trays are UV transparent and work with the casting dams supplied with the original unit. Additional casting dams are available. Slots on the sides of the gel trays hold the combs in place.

The combs consist of two pieces, allowing the depth of the comb within the gel to be adjusted. Many of the combs are multichannel compatible.

BioVolt Power Supplies

BioVolt power supplies are perfect for a wide range of nucleic acid and protein electrophoresis applications. All parameters, including voltage, current, power (Model 250V only) and time are easily set using the membrane keypad and displayed digitally on the back lit LCD. Programming is straightforward and simple.

Operating modes include constant voltage, constant current and constant power (Model 250V). Four sets of colour coded output terminals allow multiple gels to be run from the same power supply. Safety features incorporated into the power supplies include no load and load change detection systems as well as short circuit and over current/over voltage protection. The power supplies can also be programmed for automatic recovery after a power interruption.
